I have designed three simple patterns for children to use in learning doll making. They are very easy and satisfying to make. The child will be proud to say "I made this myself!" The second and third patterns build on all the things learned in the previous patterns and all are written for the child. After completing the doll, they can decorate it any way they like. All three use small pieces of fabric and trim. Yarn hair is minimal. An idea sheet and a set of instructions for the "teacher" are also included.

These patterns are perfect for Scout Leaders, Sunday School Teachers -- any group that features crafting as part of their activities. Please order one pattern per student. Doll making #1 - 8-1/2" animals and doll pattern. Basic pattern is versatile and includes a variety of ears and tails.

Doll making #2 - Building Skills Doll Pattern. Building in skills learned, child will sew a 9" doll with optional yarn hair.

Doll making #3 - More Detail Doll Pattern. Pattern includes simple two seam dress or clothing, hair can be drawn on. Yarn hair is optional, two styles included.

Doll making #3a - Similar to #3, but 6.5" with a baby shape and bent arms and legs. This doll is a little more difficult to sew.

Dolly Mouse 2" Pattern. A sweet little mouse that can also be a stocking stuffer toy, tree ornament, or package decoration.Dolly mouse is on the lower left, in Joy's right hand. Other's are the mouse family.

Frisky Puppies. Pattern includes three cute little puppies to make as stuffed toys or bean bag toys when filled with weighting pellets. They are perfect pets for some of our dolls, too. That's Lizzy under the puppies. Frisky Puppy 6 1/2", 9", & 11"

Handkerchief Bunny - AKA Handkerchief Tortoise and Hare pattern. (Shown with curly haired Apple Cheek girl in white dress). Pattern includes cute little bunny or turtle, made from one handkerchief. This is a nice way to preserve vintage linnen handkerchieves that may not be perfect, but ars still charming. Easy to make.
